Through literary presentations, round tables, exhibitions, screenings, and staged storytelling, the guests of the La vita è bella programme will explore what a beautiful life can look like in a time when people fear an impending threat, seek reassurance in simple formulas for a better and more peaceful tomorrow, and take comfort in the absence of any other solutions. La vita è bella will be explored in all the different meanings and tones the phrase can carry: as a sense of nausea at a reality presented as normal, but also as a defiant smile that holds the last trace of humanity; as an expression of dissent and a rare glimpse of meaning and truth found in works of art and science.
