Caterina Crepax
Caterina Crepax was born in Milan, where she grew up in a creative environment as the daughter of the famous comic book artist Guido Crepax. An interior architect by profession, Caterina Crepax also creates sumptuous garments and refined objects of desire from paper, transforming ordinary materials into precious “fabrics” through an ironic metamorphosis. Her works, characterised by cuts, folds and inlays, evoke magical creatures inspired by the animal and plant worlds, such as “chrysalises” that preserve the memory of the past. She works as an artist, creating wearable pieces for fashion shows and theatre productions, leads workshops at fashion and design schools, and organises team-building activities for companies. She also collaborates with her family in managing her father’s archive, with the aim of promoting new initiatives around the world.
