Disquiets

The disquiet that spreads across the world in widening circles is at the heart of the 31st Book Fair(y) in Istria. Through literature, non-fiction, essays, visual art, and film, the guests of this year’s Pula Festival of Books and Authors will explore the restlessness of our time — both the intimate disquiet within and the turmoil of the world around us.The Fair will shed new light on historical themes marked by disquiet, and its stages will also open to literary works in which today’s turbulent times confront the events of the past. In addition to literary encounters featuring authors from around the globe, discussions on disquiet will continue at round tables, while this year’s exhibition and film — inspired by creative disquiet — will reflect on more than three decades of the Book Fair(y) in Istria. For once again, the driving force behind all the festival’s events will be artistic disquiet.
