Samira Kentrić

Samira Kentrić was born in 1976. She is a visual artist and the author of three graphic novels: the autobiographical novel about growing up during the transition period „Balkanalije“ (Beletrina, 2015); an engaged story about the fate of refugees on their way to the European Union, „Pismo Adni“ (Beletrina, 2016); and a novel about finding one’s place in society after tragic events, „Adna“ (Mladinska knjiga, 2020). Her fourth book, a graphic essay on the phenomenon of vision, is currently awaiting publication. In addition to her books, she creates commentaries, covers and illustrations in which she combines public and political discourse with the intimacy of everyday human life.
