Ivan Čolović

Ivan Čolović (Belgrade, 1938) is a political anthropologist, publisher, and writer. He has authored around twenty books, including in recent years: Smrt na Kosovu polju. Istorija kosovskog mita (2017), Slike i prilike. Redom koji su se ukazivale (2018), and Virus u tekstu. Ogledi o političkoj antropologiji 4 (2020). Some of his books have been translated into English, French, Greek, Italian, Macedonian, German, Slovenian, and Polish. Čolović is the founder and editor (since 1971) and, since 1989, the publisher of the book series Biblioteka XX vek. He has received several accolades, including the Herder Prize (2000), the Knight of the Legion of Honour (2001), an honorary doctorate from the University of Warsaw (2010), and the Mirko Kovač Award for his book Smrt na Kosovu polju.
