Book for Ever (Libar za vajk) is the Book Fair(y)'s audience award. According to new criteria, books published between October 1st of the previous year and October 1st of the current year are eligible for the award. The audience grant that the books in question, displayed at the Fair(y), are not „nine days' wonders“, but works of lasting value, reaching far beyond the present time and, therefore, bound to take a precious place in somebody's personal library.
Until now, Book For Ever award has been given out to Miljenko Jergović for Sarajevo, City Map(Sarajevo, plan grada) and Olja Savičević Ivančević for Singer in the Night( Pjevač u noći). Yet, unlike in the past, this year we have decided to involve experts who can,by relying on years of professional experience, predict the longevity of a book and its potential to last „for ever“– and those experts are the booksellers.
The award, a glass sculpture made by Mauricio Ferlin, is going to be given out both to the publisher and the author of the winning title, thanks to our sponsor Arena Hospitality Group. The award will also consist of award money.
Apart from being an acknowledgment, Book for Ever is at the same time a prize contest for the visitors who make Book Fair(y)'s audience, as the luckiest three voterswill receive a set of Book Fair(y)'s best voted books.
